Chef Rob Bono began his career in Florida, receiving a James Beard Scholarship for Best New Chef in South Florida. His career has taken him overseas and back stateside, where he's worked as GM and executive chef alongside many well-known and respected culinary icons.
Today, chef Rob proudly brings his expertise and passion for New England classics and global cuisine to your events.
Sarah Bows, Catering Director
Sarah's passion for food service and hospitality started at a young age, leading her to UNH, where she graduated with a degree in hospitality. Her career began organizing events for Boston University, then to new roles as an event specialist (focusing on wedding planning) for two South Shore Wedding Venues. She's also managed her family's food safety business for over two decades.
Sarah's vast culinary background, energy, and experience make her the ideal person to manage Salt of the Earth. She'll directly work with you to create a memorable, delicious, and stress-free catering experience.

Salt of the Earth is a division of the CabbyShack, and while you may recognize CabbyShack for its award-winning clam chowder and laid-back vibes, we have our own brand capable of catering everything from casual parties to high-end one-of-a-kind events.
Our combined 40 years of catering experience inspired the launch of Salt of the Earth Catering in 2017.
We can make just about any timeline work, but we encourage you to reserve your date as soon as possible.

We provide catering services to the entire South Shore of Massachusetts, including Hingham, Norwell, Hanover, Marshfield, Duxbury, Kingston, Plymouth, Carver, Middleboro, and everywhere in between.
If your event doesn't require full-service catering, but you'd still like to work with us, we offer delivery and delivery with set up. Just let us know when you inquire.
Chef Rob loves to work with family recipes. Let us know when we're meal planning, and we'll do our best to recreate your family's favorites.
We can accommodate any dietary restrictions. Simply inform us of any restrictions or allergies when creating your menu.
Unfortunately, due to food safety laws, leftovers CAN NOT be left behind.
Our 12C liquor license allows us to provide full bar service at any event.
Yes, a 25% deposit on an estimated cost is due to book your event.
No, due to the liability insurance both liquor and food cannot be brought by an outside party unless managed by a licensed or certified person.
Final head count, approved menu, and your final payment are all due two weeks prior to your event.
If the Client needs to cancel the event, Client must provide written notice to Caterer and the Caterer must acknowledge the cancellation.
Client understands that upon entering this Contract, Caterer is committing time and resources to this Event and thus cancellation would result in lost income and lost business opportunities in an amount hard to precisely calculate. Therefore, the following cancellation limitations will apply.
The Client may cancel this contract without cause up to 30 days prior to the event and the deposit will be fully returned unless any funds authorized by the Client to be specifically spent to obtain items necessary for their event.
Canceling less than 30 days in advance of the Event, Caterer shall be entitled up to 100% of the Estimated Total Cost and the deposit will not be refunded.
Tipping the event staff is always encouraged. We build 8% into the invoice to be divided between the staff, however, most events do tip over that percentage.
The administrative fee is 15% and covers the cost of labor before, during, and after your event.
The MA tax is 7% for rentals, food, and beverage.
Yes. Our servers and bartenders are based on an hourly rate.
If a chef is needed or requested on-site, they're billed hourly.
